CCO (Coalition for Christian Outreach) Hosts Jubilee 2007
(Pittsburgh) February 12, 2007 — The CCO (Coalition for Christian Outreach) will host nearly 2,000 college students at the annual Jubilee Conference during the weekend of February 16-18, 2007 at the Hilton Pittsburgh, downtown.
The core purpose of the CCO is “transforming college students to transform the world.” Jubilee is an event that embodies this purpose by gathering hundreds of college students together to listen to various professionals explain how their Christian faith informs the way they live their lives, particularly in the workplace.
Keynote presenters for Jubilee 2007 include four renowned speakers and authors: Shane Claiborne, Steven Garber, Gary Haugen and Barbara Williams-Skinner. Shane Claiborne, author of The Irresistible Revolution, will speak Friday night, and Steve Garber, who wrote the book, The Fabric of Faithfulness, about connecting behavior and belief, will address the large group on Saturday morning. The Saturday evening keynote session will feature Gary Haugen, President of the International Justice Mission and author of The Good News About Injustice. The Sunday morning session, open to the public free of charge, will be led by Barbara Williams Skinner, President of the Washington DC-based Skinner Leadership Institute, whose mission is to “produce a new generation of leaders who are technically excellent and spiritually mature.”
These four large-group sessions will feature the music of the Charlie Hall Band (Friday evening), the Josh Moyer Band (Saturday and Sunday mornings), and Indelible Grace (Saturday evening). Breakout sessions offered throughout the weekend will address a Christian perspective on topics as diverse as art, law, business, sports, pornography, literature, medicine, politics, counseling, music and racial reconciliation.
The CCO (Coalition for Christian Outreach) is an interdenominational campus ministry organization whose mission is “transforming college students to transform the world.” The CCO focuses its ministry in the mid-Atlantic region (Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, New York, and the greater Washington, DC area). This region boasts the second highest concentration of college students in the United States.
