Jeff & Judy Winter

Since we moved to New England some friends from Philadelphia and Denver have called us “traitors.” Others have called us names that can’t be shared in a Christmas newsletter. Though we remain unapologetic Phillies and Eagles fans, it’s kind of nice to live in a part of the country where the major sports teams actually win championships. Being on Christ’s team means a sure victory in the end. But hey, “Go Patriots, Sox and Celtics.”

After a very good nineteen month interim at the Langhorne Presbyterian Church (north of Philadelphia), we moved this past September to Martha’s Vineyard, a beautiful island off the coast of Cape Cod. For years we have vacationed here.  Now, Jeff is the interim pastor of the Faith Community Church. We don’t know how long we will be here.  We are trusting that God will use us on an island that is rather wealthy, liberal, and lost. Judy continues to use her nursing skills at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Her work gives her wonderful opportunities to share the love of Christ.

Our children have been on the move. Ken and Tara and their three children moved to Cedarville, OH this past summer. After five years of doing youth ministry Ken is now a student again at Cedarville University as well as being the assistant soccer coach for the men’s varsity team. Tara is employed by the university in the education department helping to place undergrads in student teaching opportunities. Kyle moved too. He headed west to Breckenridge, CO in early September to be near his big sister and brother-in-law.  He is working as a reservationist in Summit County and learning how to do telemark skiing.  He is a lot braver than Mom and Dad. The big news is, Kelly is pregnant with her first child.  She is due in February. Before this life-changing challenge invades Kelly and Paul’s life they remain the middle school youth directors at the Breckenridge Christian Ministries. Paul is working with a builder and developer in Breckenridge and more and more is becoming an accomplished videographer. We are proud of our children, their spouses and are particularly thankful for our grandchildren. What a joy it is to watch them sprout up.

We wish you a wonderful and healthy 2008.
