(Pittsburgh) November 7, 2008 – Charles Chapman, a co-founder and community-outreach coordinator of The L.I.V.I.N.G. (Love Initiated Ventures Investing In Neglected Groups) Ministry, a nonprofit organization that serves Pittsburgh’s homeless men, was named one of Pittsburgh’s 40 Under 40.
Charles, a 2006 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, connected to the CCO’s ministry during his freshman year. He met fellow student Mike Ichimura and the two worked with the CCO-sponsored Cornerstone Christian Fellowship to reach out to the homeless.
“If not for Cornerstone and the introduction that came between me and Mike as a result, L.I.V.I.N.G. Ministry wouldn’t exist,” says Charles, “I have dedicated my life to offering hope to the homeless, [empowering them] to make a positive impact in their personal lives, families and communities.”
The CCO is a campus ministry organization which partners with churches, colleges and organizations to develop men and women who live out their Christian faith in every area of life. The CCO’s core purpose is “transforming college students to transform the world.”
