Heidi Decker approaches teaching as ministry
“The CCO influenced me to view my work not only as ministry, but as service to the Lord,” says Heidi. “So when people ask me what ministries I’m involved in, I tell them I’m a teacher. I spend many after-work hours tutoring kids, and taking them on outdoor adventure trips. Loving these kids positions me to share with them what I’ve learned and in whom I trust. As a high school teacher, I find many opportunities to speak to my students about God and faith, because they are at a point in their lives where they are searching for something real, something true. Almost any problem or struggle, and how we handle it is rooted in, and stems from, what we believe about God. And so I use these opportunities when they are presented to me as problems, to speak about the true answer!”
