(Pittsburgh) January 13, 2010 — The Best Christian Workplaces Institute (BCWI) announced for the eighth consecutive year that the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO) is one of the 2010 Best Christian Workplaces in the US.
The CCO is an organization committed to transforming college students to transform the world. They accomplish this by partnering with churches, colleges and organizations to develop men and women who live out their Christian faith in every area of life. The CCO employs 232 people across 84 college campuses.
“We believe our ministry calling extends not only to the college students we serve but also to our staff,” says Matt Howell, coordinator of leadership development for the CCO. “While we are always seeking to improve, the Best Christian Workplaces certification shows that our entire organization is working together to make the CCO a great place for people to live out their vocational calling in an innovative and supportive work environment.”
President of BCWI Al Lopus also comments on the significance of the award, “Even in an economic crisis, leaders in these Best Christian Workplaces understand the importance of sustaining a healthy environment for their staff. It is during these crisis times the needs of the people served by Christian organizations are the greatest.”
The 2010 survey involved organizations around the country to identify great workplaces with a Christian mission and/or values. Staff from each organization filled out a lengthy online survey in the fall of 2009, which covers such issues as job satisfaction, organizational commitment, Christian witness, personal growth and development, management effectiveness, communications, and pay and benefits.
