People of Character

This article first appeared in the summer 2009 issue of On Campus magazine.

“As an older person, it is so encouraging for me to see the opportunities available to the next generation. When I was in college, most of these issues were not discussed. I’m very impressed with the thoughtful questions that students are asking about their own lives and the world around them.”

This observation was made by someone who recently attended our annual Jubilee conference. Jubilee is our flagship event, a weekend-long celebration which gathers thousands of college students in one place for a concentrated amount of time. It helps them consider how, if they commit themselves to working out their vocations in light of how God intends, they can literally be agents of God’s change in our world.

But the real work happens day by day on campuses throughout the mid-Atlantic region. As our staff people invest themselves in the lives of the individual students they serve, they are modeling for those students how to invest in the lives of others.

Transforming college students to transform the world is about building up leaders—the student leaders of today, and the community and world leaders of tomorrow.

Thank you for partnering with us to ensure that those leaders will be people of character, integrity and generosity.
