The CCO develops leaders. For 39 years, this ministry to college students has successfully equipped young people by deepening their faith, developing their character and illuminating within them a Christian worldview. Thousands of students have been touched by this ministry, and they have gone on to influence the lives of thousands of others. The ripple of effect of the CCO’s ministry has shaped families, churches, businesses, schools and countless other organizations, not only in this region, but across the country and around the world.
When Bob Long began as Executive Director in 1972, the CCO had three itinerant staff people on five campuses in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Today, 232 CCO staff people are reaching students on 84 college campuses in seven states. After four decades, the CCO’s ministry has deepened and expanded, and students who have graduated from a CCO ministry over the last four decades are making a real difference in their families, churches, workplaces and communities.
Bob Long will retire from active service with the CCO in the summer of 2010, but his legacy will live on through those whom he and the CCO have shaped and influenced. The Bob Long Leadership Fund has been established as a means of perpetuating this remarkable legacy through the organization to which Bob has given his whole life’s work: the Coalition for Christian Outreach.

We are privileged to honor Bob’s legacy as we seek to develop Christ-centered leaders for generations to come.
