I think I might have done a lot of things that I would regret now; I had a lot of friends who were a really bad influence on me, but because of my relationship with Christ, I didn’t give in to their temptations. I probably would have been a lot more likely to do so if the CCO had not been available to me.”

Glen connected to the CCO’s ministry early in his freshman year when he went to Point Park University’s activities fair and found out about The Body.

“I had just become a Christian the summer before going off to college, so I really needed a Christian group to surround myself with to keep me grounded in my new-found faith,” Glen says. “During my time at Point Park, I attended the weekly fellowship meetings and a men’s Bible study group, and I went to Jubilee, which I loved! Not only was it a very fun event, but the break-out sessions were awesome. Jubilee helped broaden my knowledge of what kinds of books to look for, and different ideas within Christianity—some that I agree with and some that I don’t—but in both cases, I learned a lot. I also was able to learn about different ministries around the Pittsburgh area and serve and do good work for God. It was an absolutely wonderful weekend!”

Glen recently graduated from Point Park with his bachelor’s degree in cinema and digital arts. He now lives in York, Pennsylvania, where he is freelancing as a photographer and is searching for a church family.

“I just moved, so I haven’t found a church here that I really like yet, but I’m looking!” Glen says. “When I was in Pittsburgh, I was very active in my church. I helped with the nursery almost every Sunday and I came to the different events, like concerts and game nights. I loved being around the community at my church, and I really enjoyed meeting the new people who came.

“My roommates and I are trying to organize a block party when spring starts in order to try and unify the community here, because there is a real lack of community where we live, and we need to do something about this. I learned a lot about community from the CCO—what it is and what it means to me. That is a big part of my life now; community is what I am mainly concerned about improving in my life, and the life of the people around me. I am very grateful for the CCO community, because it really helped me through college.”
