CCO staff member Amy Nichols received The Unity Week Award for Inclusion and Community at Philadelphia University during the school’s third annual Unity Week celebration. Unity Week took place during the week of March 21-31, 2011 and is a campus-wide effort that affirms the diversity represented on campus.
The Inclusion and Community award is given to a faculty/staff member who demonstrates “passion for the values and principles that shape Unity Week.” Amy was nominated by the students she works with at PhilaU. She won the award for her efforts in “advancing equality and a more just society” among students on campus and in the community at large.
More than 30 students, faculty and administrators coordinated a series of performances, speakers, dialogues, open classes, food and music during this special week-long event.
