Kerri Landes Clauser reaching out to Pitt and CMU students from Homewood

Kerri Clauser and her husband, Casey, launched the Bible Center Church Ministry House in the Homewood neighborhood of Pittsburgh in 2010, and Kerri has joined the CCO as associate staff as she reaches students at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh.

The house is designed for young adults and college students to live together in Christian community while doing outreach and ministry in the community where they live. The Ministry House is a place for Christian leaders to develop as they learn about urban ministry.

“I wanted to partner with an organization that values the importance of transforming college students,” says Kerri. “I believe that connecting college students to opportunities to know, love, and serve God is a critical part of the college experience.

“I feel the church has a significant role in building relationships with students and helping them grow in their walk with God. The CCO and Bible Center can be the vehicle to connect students with the city in which they live, and how they can do ministry and service within the community.”

Kerri graduated from Geneva College in 2008 with degrees in political science and human services. She earned a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh in 2010.
