Rob Terracciano
Brookdale Community College 2013, biology major
When Rob Terracciano graduated from high school, he dreamed of going away to college and playing baseball. But limited finances meant that this dream needed to be put on hold, and Rob needed to make other plans. He enrolled as a commuter at Brookdale Community College, near his New Jersey home, and he immediately connected to the CCO’s ministry there—led by his older brother, Dan.
“Because of me, Rob knew about the ministry right away and got involved,” Dan says. “The ministry was actually a significant contributing factor in his choosing to come to Brookdale. Rob has been involved with the leadership team from the get-go. He leads worship for our weekly gatherings, and he also leads our core group discussions each Wednesday after the message for the other college guys in the group. He takes a lot of initiative in planning events and currently lives in the Mission House, our intentional Christian community, with four other college guys.”
In spite of his disappointment about not being able to follow his original plans, Rob has made the most of his college experience. He is involved with the student life team at Brookdale and works for the school at the help desk. He helps coordinate events on campus, and he has played a key role in helping get the word out about the CCO’s ministry at Brookdale.
“Rob has begun to have an effective witness among the other students on the student life team as he helps connect students to other students and events on campus. He has helped the ministry we are doing on campus just by being involved there, helping to get flyers up, and so on.
“Throughout the year he has received the Word well and has been open and available to transformation. He is readily willing to learn and grow through our Bible studies and through hearing the Word preached at our gatherings. He has asked questions and sought help in working through his discontentment.”
Rob has also grown a great deal in his passion for what worship is and how to lead it. He has taken leadership in Sunday church services and invites other students to help lead music as well.
“Rob has come to love Jesus much more this year and this is evident in his commitment to the Word and to taking on more spiritual leadership within the group,” Dan says. “I see this happening in the way he leads worship and discussions and in how he has involved himself in leading a Bible study for high school students. He has truly become content where the Lord has him and is participating in LDW Wyoming to continue to grow this summer.”
