CCO Executive Leaders

aboutus_ourleadership_liefer.jpgBonnie Liefer serves as Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the CCO. As a student at Carnegie Mellon University in the 1970s, Bonnie was involved in the CCO’s ministry on campus, and after graduating from CMU in 1978 with a BFA in graphic design, she joined staff as the CCO’s graphic designer. In that role, she found new ways of expressing the gospel through designing cards to send to CCO supporters; the cards ministry has grown throughout the years and provides both a creative outlet for the artist and income to support the ministry. Bonnie later became Director of Communications, and in 2005, Vice President for Marketing and Communications.

“I am a self-starter and the CCO has always provided me with a lot of creative freedom as well as a community that I can learn from,” says Bonnie. “Our staff events have been extremely stimulating and I have loved being part of mission that is far greater than myself.”

Bonnie is passionate about college ministry. “I have seen both the vulnerability of college students and the results when Christian people invest in the lives of young people,” she says. “There is such a short window of opportunity and such a huge chance for long-term impact .”

Bonnie is married to Dave Liefer, and she has one married stepdaughter, a married stepson, and two grandchildren.
