Andy Campbell serves as Area Director for Philadelphia, supervising staff throughout the metro area. He coaches and supervises staff on 20 campuses, and works with area cooperative partners to develop places where campus ministry can thrive.
Andy was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2001, he received his Bachelor’s degree from Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia and in 2004 he received his Master’s degree from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Andy joined staff in 2004, and was the first CCO staff person to establish a campus ministry at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
Andy served at UArts for three years, where he and his students probed issues ranging from basic Christian growth to making art from a Christian worldview. Their focus was on Imago Dei – creating little creators in the image of the big Creator. They also challenged each other to boldly live their faith, to refuse to back down from tough questions, and to show love personified. In 2007 Andy moved into his current role as the Area Director for Philadelphia.
“What strikes me about the CCO is our emphasis on worldview and contextual ministry. We encourage our staff to discover the need of students on any given campus, in any given niche, and to develop a ministry that meets those needs. One of our core values is “All things belong to God.” This means that God cares about all areas of the college experience, all majors, all activities. When we instill this into students, it sets up a paradigm that will guide them through the rest of their lives: God cares about what I’m doing and expects that I do it to His glory.”
Andy and his wife, April, have two young daughters, Sydney and Rylee. They live in Northeast Philly.
