CCO Campus Ministry

CCO Area Directors

exceutivepixtemplate_tarara.jpgKatie Tarara is Area Director for Southwest Pennsylvania and West Virginia, where she supervises CCO campus staff on six area campuses and works to develop new opportunities for ministry throughout the state of West Virginia.

Katie was involved in the CCO’s ministry through Shadyside Presbyterian Church while a student at Carnegie Mellon University. She served on the ministry leadership team, working on retreats and conferences, she led an occasional Bible study, and she had many memorable adventures with her CCO campus minister and friends.

In 2002, Katie joined CCO staff to work as an Area Coordinator for the upperclassmen residence halls at Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West Virginia. In 2005, she moved into her position as Area Director.

“I work for the CCO because I believe that if college students get a vision for something beyond themselves in college, they will become leaders who work to change the structures and institutions around them,” Katie says. “When college students find their vision in Jesus and his Kingdom, His work will grow for the benefit of His world.”

Katie lives and works in a “big old house” in the East Wheeling neighborhood of Wheeling, West Virginia, and on Sunday mornings, she walks a block down the street to St Joseph’s Cathedral Parish where she is a member. If you can’t find her at home, check out her “second office” at Second Cup Cafe, Wheeling’s finest purveyor of Fair Trade coffee and tea.

Katie can be reached at ktarara@gmail.com.

Everybody on staff at the CCO raises their own financial support, including the area directors. You can support Katie or anybody else on our area director team by contributing online.
