CCO Area Directors

exceutivepixtemplate_mattes.jpgMike Mattes is the Area Director for Metro Columbus, supervising CCO campus staff in Ohio and maintaining and developing positions with churches, colleges and boards in his geographical region.

Mike was involved with the CCO-sponsored Cornerstone Ministry through Bellefield Presbyterian Church during his years as a student at the University of Pittsburgh. He served as a student leader of small group Bible studies for three years, and as a student leader for Habitat for Humanity for two years. He also served for one year as a campus ministry intern with Cornerstone Ministry.

Mike joined CCO staff in January 2001, and he was the first CCO staff person to reach out to students at The Ohio State University. After four years of ministering to students at OSU, Mike moved into his current Area Director responsibilities.

“College students are able to ask the fundamental questions for shaping a Christian worldview which will not only carry them through life, but will help them to truly transform the world!” Mike says. “The CCO does this better then any other college ministry through its partnerships with colleges and churches.”

Mike and his wife, Beth, who currently works with the CCO as a campus worker at Ohio State, live in Columbus, Ohio. They worship together at West Second Avenue Presbyterian Church and Grace Central PCA.
