It is an honor to serve the CCO. Their mission, transforming college students to transform the world, is clearly important to all of us who realize that college students will be the leaders of tomorrow. The leadership and staff of the CCO dedicate themselves to this mission and execute their call with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Simply put, the mission of the CCO hits close to home for me. I was raised in a Christian family and accepted Christ as my Savior early in my life. When I started college, I went to church and became involved with a Christian organization on campus. Unfortunately, as with many college students, I began to focus on other things, and my faith, or at least my Christian fellowship, took a back seat. It would have been a blessing to have a mentor to help me focus on how God could use the gifts he had given me as I prepared to launch my career.
I reconnected with the Lord after graduation, but I felt and still feel today that the CCO would have kept me closer during those years. It would have been nice to have been surrounded with other people with similar beliefs who could have provided me with assistance during my college years.
