CCO Campus Ministry

Home / About Us / Where We Serve / All Schools / Clarion University of Pennsylvania

We currently have three CCO staff members ministering to students at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Katie Black and Erin Sabol reach out to students through Koinonia Christian Fellowship, and Doug Hull works to connect with student leaders involved in different areas of the campus such as fraternities, athletes, residence life, and the music and theater departments. He mentors leaders to grow in their relationship with Jesus and encourages and empowers them to impact the campus in their area of influence.

Koinonia was founded nearly 40 years ago by students and community members who shared a vision to reach college students. It is still a community-based ministry and has continued to grow.

Koinonia Christian Fellowship is a very active ministry with many different kinds of programming. We provide opportunities for students to get connected with other students, grow in their faith, develop their leadership skills, and share Jesus’ love with students on campus and in the community.

Koinonia meets weekly as a large group every Thursday at 7:30pm in 250/252 Gemmell to allow students to connect to God and each other in various ways while learning to apply their faith to every area of their lives as college students. This is done through corporate worship and prayer, as well as speakers, small group discussions, and more. We also seek to build community throughout the week through our prayer chain, game and movie nights, scavenger hunts, and more!

Our Tuesday Bible study meets weekly at 8:00pm on Level A of the library, and our weekly prayer table is open on Mondays from 12-2pm in the library.

We offer many opportunities for spiritual development, including weekly Bible studies, intense small group studies, discipleship opportunities, retreats, mission trips, and conferences.

We also reach out to the campus by partnering with other organizations such as Greek Life to raise awareness about issues like hunger, poverty, and injustice, while presenting them from a biblical perspective.  We also practice outreach both on campus and in the community through various service projects and activities.

Those who want to serve by helping to plan and run Koinonia can join the Ministry Team for formal training and experiential opportunities.
