CCO staff members R.C. Griffin, Cheylan Fosmer, Andy Harlan and Gretchen Griffin serve students at Gannon University, a school affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church.

Cheylan and Andy partner with First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and serve as co-directors of the Kirk House, a living and learning discipleship house where students from various Christian traditions learn and live in community with one another. Students commit to living together, praying together, eating together on occasion, and generally caring for one another.

R.C. serves directly for Gannon’s Campus Ministry Office, and Gretchen serves as associate staff, spending time with students on a volunteer basis through her membership at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and as a graduate student at Gannon.

Students are encouraged to connect with one of the faith-sharing groups on campus:

  • The Ark fellowship group meets every Wednesday night at 9 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, which is located right at the edge of Gannon’s campus, and is advised by Andy and Cheylan.
  • Adelphai is a women’s group, advised by Cheylan, which meets Monday nights at 8pm in the Upper Lounge of the Student Services Building.
  • Emmaus is a men’s group which meets on Monday nights at 8pm at the Kirk House, and is advised by Andy.
  • The Zone is a faith-sharing group for student athletes, and Letters is designed for students involved in the Greek system on campus, and both are advised by R.C.  The Zone meets on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Recruiting Lounge of the Carneval Athletic Pavilion. Letters meets on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. in the Waldron Campus Center.

In the spirit of ecumenism, each CCO staff person is a recognized part of the Gannon University Campus Ministry staff. Out of this office, they host a variety of spiritual activities in an effort to build relationships with a variety of students. They also organize retreat experiences for students in various stages of their faith journey. And, because Gannon is a Catholic university, CCO staff also participate in liturgical activities, such as weekly mass and ecumenical prayer services.

To find out how to get involved, stop by the Campus Ministry Office at Gannon, vist any of the faith-sharing groups, or email Cheylan, Andy or R.C.
