CCO associate staff members minister to students at Messiah College in a variety of ways. Wendell Witter is Director of Issachar’s Loft, and Chad Frey serves with the Agapé Center for Service and Learning. Dave Tanis also reaches out to students.
Issachar’s Loft is responsible for advancing the mission of Messiah College and the CCO through fostering leadership, discipleship, wilderness and educational programing that are conducive to academic success, spiritual formation, and social engagement. This is done through Bible studies, group facilitations, wilderness trips, development of student leaders, and a weekly fellowship called “Who’s Zoomin’ Who?”
The Agapé Center for Service and Learning develops, administers, resources, and coordinates programs of service-learning, community service, and mission, contributing to the mission of Messiah College to “educate men and women toward maturity of intellect, character, and Christian faith in preparation for lives of service, leadership, and reconciliation in church and society.” Students, faculty, and staff work with community-based partners in local, national, and international settings to address community needs, to provide holistic learning opportunities for students, and encourage students toward an ethic of discipleship, service, and civic engagement.
