CCO staff member Khadija Garrison works with students at Ohio Dominican University (ODU) on the east side of Columbus, Ohio. ODU is a small private school with a great mix of students, primarily from the Central Ohio region. Even though ODU is a Catholic institution, it recognizes that not all of its students are Catholic. Over the past few years, the ministry has been working to develop outreach to both Catholic and non-Catholic students alike. Much of what Khadija does encompasses both kinds of students. She works to provide programs that serve the spiritual needs of students.
Khadija also works to have a strong emphasis on a ministry of presence. She believes that it is not only important to provide resources for students, but that it is also essential to play a supportive role for students in all areas of their life and work on campus.
It is her hope that she and the ODU team can touch the lives of students through worship, prayer, service, study and celebration. As the campus continues to grow, she continues to explore how to better serve and reach the student body.
