Robert Morris University (RMU) is very pleased to partner with the CCO and to host a full-time CCO staff person on campus to oversee our Student Community Service Center. We have been blessed with an outstanding young man who has both professional expertise in volunteer management and a heart for our students. As a result of his enthusiastic leadership and his sensitivity to the needs of our students and community partners, RMU’s student volunteer program is seeing exciting growth. Perhaps most importantly, students who drop by the Student Community Service Center know they will find a listening ear, a supportive friend and a role model to emulate. We couldn’t ask for more! We desire to provide a place where all our students will find support for their faith, not just the Catholics. I do know that the two CCO staff I have worked with have helped us to do just that. On another level, CCO’s presence expands our ministry team’s presence to individual students and often we are instrumental in the transformation of our students one at a time.
The CCO provides a level of training and supervision that enhances that work. In addition, the age range of the CCO staffers helps us to connect with the next generation. [CCO staff member] Khadija Garrison brings New Orleans hospitality to Ohio Dominican. This hospitality is the core of her primary role as a Resident Hall Minister. Of course, her faith and spiritual insight adds to our ministry team and is evident in her care for the spiritual and personal growth of our students. The CCO is an amazing organization. The strong commitment and dedication to the Lord seen throughout its structure is impressive.

As a church-related institution, Westminster College seeks to create an on-campus environment in which our students’ spiritual needs are met. The CCO’s presence on campus helps us fulfill this mission as students observe and interact with staff members who serve as Christian role models…lending a helping hand, a word of advice or a listening ear. Our Titan Traverse Leadership Program, which is staffed entirely by CCO personnel, is a model emulated by other colleges. The College also has an extensive Residence Life program that brings CCO staff members into contact with our students daily.
