“The CCO’s ministry very much changed the focus of my education. I participated in a student-led evangelistic Bible study that helped lead me to Christ. Before that, I was focused on getting a good education so I could get a good paying job and purchase all the creature comforts. After becoming a Christian, my focus changed to identifying where God wanted me to be in life and using the gifts He gave me for His honor, not mine.”

“I recently found the journal I used to take notes in during Jubilee conferences. It is truly amazing how things I heard and wrote down then have been applied in my life over the past seven years. I was reading back through and thinking, ‘Wow, I didn’t even realize what an impact this would have on my life or how true it would be.’”

“I have come into contact with nearly 5,000 students over the last 22 years as a teacher at North East High School. There is no doubt that God has touched these lives because of my contact with CCO and the discipleship training that I received when I was a student at Edinboro University. The lives that I come into contact with today are influenced by the time invested in me back in college.”

“The CCO helped me to learn how not to be selfish and how give of myself and my time. I learned how to put other people’s needs in front of mine. My campus ministers gave me the confidence to pray aloud and be proud of my Christian faith.”

“I frequently tell people the very same truth I learned back at Jubilee in the early ’90s. However God has gifted you, whatever your vocation, whatever your skill set, you can use it all to serve Him and labor for His kingdom. God will use you as you are in Christ. All we need to be is willing and obedient.”

Participating in the Jubilee conference during her junior year gave Heather a glimpse of how she could use what she was learning to serve God and others. She started asking, “How does what I’m doing here at Penn State connect with other people?”

“Without the CCO’s influence on our lives, I cannot imagine we would have become the family we are, and I am grateful to God that he allowed us the gift of being loved and nurtured by CCO staff during our vulnerable undergraduate years.”

““It was through the CCO’s ministry that I discovered how to make Jesus my Lord as well as my Savior, the king over all of my life. Everything—my relationships, my career, my family, my finances—all of it is under his control and all of my decisions in these and all other areas would fall under his authority.”

“Jubilee was phenomenal. It was a breath of fresh air to see so many people dedicated to figuring out the intersection of faith and their studies, what it means to be a Christian and a student, a Christian and an athlete.”

“I learned what it meant to integrate my faith into all areas of my life—classes, work, friendships. Being on CCO staff and being part of the ministry as a student was better preparation for pastoral ministry than seminary.”
