New Hampshire: White Mountains
The White Mountains feature the Presidential Range, the Appalachian Trail and the highest peak in New England. This area is ideal for winter camping and cross-country skiing. Stay overnight in a mountain hut or build your own snow shelter. A possible day of ice-climbing a frozen waterfall can add to the adventure.

Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Pack gear and drive to the White Mountains.
Day 2: Ski in and set up camp or stay in a hut.
Days 3-9: Ski from hut to hut while enjoying the quiet snowy atmosphere and possibly spend a day learning to ice climb a frozen waterfall.
Day 10: Pack up gear and drive home.
