SUMO

Summer Urban Mission Opportunities (SUMO) is a one-week transformative cross cultural mission experience in one of Pittsburgh’s most fertile urban neighborhoods, Homewood. Experience an intensive urban immersion where you will learn, grow and be challenged!

Over two thirds of the world’s population lives in cities. Through the lens of scripture, students and staff will have the opportunity to engage in a service project, experience training related to urban ministry, and reflect on God’s Kingdom Advancement in the city of Pittsburgh. With professors and practitioners, such as Dr. John Wallace Jr., Dr. Rodger Woodworth, Dr. Stephanie Boddie, and others, you will learn and experience urban ministry, a city, living in community, understanding poverty, and becoming a servant leader.
