Home / Events / A Taste of the Alps

The magic of travel is that you leave your home secure in your own knowledge and identity, but as you travel, the world in all its richness intervenes, you meet people you could not invent; you see scenes you could not imagine.
—Ken Nerburn

I invite you to experience for yourself what thousands of young people have discovered travelling to the wilderness with the CCO: the beauty of Creation, the joy of community, and the presence of God. Taste of the Alps offers the “cautiously adventurous” a chance to discover the diverse beauty and history of this snow-capped mountain region. Leave behind the harried routines of life and join us for this Alpine excursion from a beautifully-situated, comfortable chalet.

Straddling the borders of France, Italy and Switzerland, Mont Blanc offers some of the most outstanding mountain scenery on earth. A modern chalet close to Chamonix, birthplace of the winter Olympics in 1924, will be your base to discover the Alps. You will travel parts of the 110-mile Tour du Mont Blanc, one of the world’s greatest hikes which passes through your backyard.

Taste of the Alps is an opportunity to listen for God in the beauty of creation and the people you encounter in your travels.
—Dan Dupee, President & CEO of the CCO
