You will be transported from Geneva airport to Les Houches. Following an afternoon briefing, you will have a chance to acquaint yourself with this beautiful town before we gather for dinner.
In the morning, we will start with the Christ the King walk and then finish the day at La Ferme Payot, a goat cheese farm. We will be spending the evening at La Caleche in Chamonix.
We will be heading to Aiguille du Midi, beginning our day with a tour of a local museum via gondola ride. From there, the afternoon is split between the option to hike the Grand Balcon or spend the afternoon shopping in town.
Spend the whole day in Lac Blanc or a hike by way of ladders (Tete aux Vents) until the afternoon, where we will take the Cog railway to Montenvers and visit the inside of the Mer de Glace glacier. Enjoy the evening at Le Munchie in Chamonix.
Relax for the day in Courmayeur, Italy. Several options are available including taking the gondola for a hike, visit a botanical garden, or enjoy a relaxing day discovering the stores and gelato stands of this wonderful town.
We have several options, including an all day hike to Contamines Montjoie, a scenic drive for a visit of Notre Dame de la Gorge or a drive to St Gervais market.
From Les Contamines-Montjoie, we will take a day trip to Annecy to discover the rich history of this old town and chateau. For those inclined, there is a short hike around the lake.
For our last full day of the trip, we will have time to meander through the Chamonix farmers market and enjoy a wine tour, complete with souvenir shopping in the afternoon. There is also the option to hike to Tete de Brevent in France or travel across the border to Fenetre D’Arpette in Switzerland.
A very early morning departure from Chamonix will get everyone to the Geneva aiport in time to catch their flight back to the States.
