For male camaraderie, this year’s Clay Getaway couldn’t have been better. Think mountains, cold, guns, woolies, clay pigeons (it’s called “busting clays” by the REAL shooters) and cigars. Plus the outside cigar area was popular AND populated.
Dave Perry and Steve Porter, Co-Chairs of the Committee, and many other enthusiastic sportsmen put on this event on January 27th at the Pike Run Country Club in the Laurel Highlands, a pretty spectacular venue for an all-men get-together.
Among all of this presentation, there is deep gratitude to the people who made it possible. From the organizers to the auction donors to the country club itself, there were many hands that made this event possible and successful.
The best part, of course, is that it benefited the CCO. That benefit is far-flung, reaching students on 87 campuses and counting, as well as many more who will attend our conferences or participate in our mission trips or outdoor leadership trips. There are people who have been influenced by the CCO in all 50 states (and beyond!) who are sharing the grace that abounds when one knows God. The CCO takes seriously the mandate to help college students transform the world, making it a better place.
So thanks to all who participated in the Clay Getaway, and a warm invitation to all to join us January 25 and 26 of 2013, to enjoy and bless, all in the same event.
