Community Based Positions

We have a variety of community based positions. Often members of a community surrounding a college or university desire to see that campus reached for Christ.  This presents itself in a variety of positions such as:

· Local board – individuals or churches in an area create work together to create the necessary funds to support a staff worker. (this can often involve living with students in a discipleship house).

· Coffeeshop – staff split their time working behind the counter as baristas and on campus, building relationships in both contexts.

Outdoor Leadership

Since 1978, our outdoor leadership component has exploded—from one staff specialist leading occasional backpacking trips to established experiential education programs on campuses like Geneva, Malone, Messiah and Westminster Colleges and Penn State University. These unique programs offer campus communities educational, community-building and leadership development opportunities through an on-site initiative course, day-long and weekend trips (hiking, camping, caving, rappelling, rock-climbing, etc.), and longer spring break and summer excursions.
