CCO staff member Scott Evans is a Staff Director with the CCO, supervising the ministries of CCO staff in central Pennsylvania. He also ministers to college students at Franklin and Marshall College. Scott is ordained in the Bible Fellowship Church.
In the previous church where I was working, there was little for young adults and so I began a Sunday evening study in my basement. I found my passion growing to serve these college students in an increasing way and began to ask God, “What is going on? Is it time to transition?”
I chose to work with the CCO because they are intentional about working with local churches to reach campuses for Christ. Real ministry goes out in community into the world to share the love and person of Jesus. That is exactly what the CCO tries to do. We partner with churches and communities to go and share the good news of Jesus in every inch of campus and life.
Working with college students is a new adventure every day. These students will change the world, and I have the privilege to be a part of this.
The CCO is a great organization. They continue to provide encouragement and support to help me be faithful in this ministry to students. The CCO does not look to take the place of the church, but operates as an arm of the Church. It is exciting to see how God is weaving His Kingdom story through the lives of students on this campus.
