CCO Campus Ministry

Phil’s four years with CCO have been awesome. I have seen my son grow into a God-focused young adult with a sincere desire to serve and care for college men and women.  The support and training Phil has received has been an incredible journey that I know he would not have found in any other profession.  I look back and I see God’s hand in my son’s life, and am thankful that Phil pursued the call to become a CCO staff person. I am proud of him, and proud of the difference he is making in others’ lives through sharing Christ with them.

“We really like the way CCO partners with churches. Being on staff at a church provides a group of his peers that can provide encouragement in his ministry. CCO provides quite a bit of training. Andy’s trips to Pittsburgh have always been helpful in furthering his growth as a missionary. Also, CCO works very hard to match a person’s talents, personality, spiritual gifts and interests in matching them with a particular city, church and college campus. This is Andy’s fifth year and he is as excited as I’ve ever seen him.”

When our older daughter Chrissy told us she was going to be a campus missionary with CCO, we were excited for her stepping out in faith to serve others. Churches send missionaries around the world but many have forgotten about our young people leaving home after high school to be influenced by others with many different worldviews. Chrissy has a compassion for college kids building relationships, showing biblical values and living out their faith. When we see how God is using Chrissy to eternally impact the lives of young people, we are blessed to be a part of the incredible journey of faith.

When we first learned about the CCO, we were a bit unsure. We are both alums of InterVarsity and knew Campus Crusade well, but had not heard much about the CCO. As we learned that, for example, the president of the CCO raises his own support, too, we were impressed. We also like the CCO’s cooperative arrangements with other ministries and churches.”
