I love to work for the CCO, because it enables me to transform college students in a unique context.
It’s a Thursday night and the football team finishes up its final practice for the week. Before many of the players go to shower or run off to dinner, they gather in the visitor’s locker room of the field house, sweaty and tired. A few of the coaches come in and sit down. I begin to read scripture.
Every day at Slippery Rock University, I am provided the opportunity to share scripture with many young men and women. I spend many hours with the university football team. I attend practices, gather for Bible study and encourage them in their play at home and away games. This allows me a space to share the life of Jesus.
The power of Christ’s love reaches every area of life; the CCO’s passion to make this a reality affords me the opportunity to witness to this at Slippery Rock University. I love to work for the CCO because I serve with a community of people who desire to know Christ and want students to know Him as well. Our commitment to be faithful and obedient as we transform our world makes my work a joy.
